Join us at Mt. Pisgah State park for a one-day Project Learning Tree Educator Workshop!

This workshop is being offered in partnership with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Participants will receive PLT’s Explore Your Environment: K-8 Activity Guide which includes 50 hands-on, multidisciplinary activities to connect children to nature and increase young people’s awareness and knowledge about their environment. Most activities are designed to take one or two 50-minute periods of instruction. Topics include trees and forests, wildlife, water, air, energy, waste, climate change, invasive species, community planning, and more.
Bring your own brown bag lunch and dress for outdoor fun!
If you have attended the Growing Up Wild Workshop in the past and found it to match your community needs and outdoor programming creativity, you will not want to miss this!

Join us for Master the Art of Library Fundraising: A Workshop with Chad Barger

NCLD is thrilled to sponsor master trainer Chad Barger for an in-person workshop on June 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM in the Lowry Room at the James V. Brown Library.
Fundraising shouldn’t feel like a chore. During this 90 minute session, Chad will share practical tips you can use to become effective and engaged fundraisers for the library. You’ll leave with a complete toolkit to activate your entire Board, library staff, and Friends of the Library volunteers.
